Landscape painting from a city dweller perspective
As an artist who has resided in the city for numerous years, the yearning for proximity to nature grows stronger with each passing day. The concrete jungle, though vibrant and full of life in its own right, cannot replicate the serenity and beauty found in nature. The longing to immerse myself in the tranquility of natural landscapes, to draw inspiration from the organic forms and colors, is a long-lasting sentiment I have started to express many years ago in a form of landscape photography. As a natural step forward, I have recently focused on landscape painting, which plays more than just expressive role in my life.
In this post I want to share with you some things that matter to me as an artist and explain the why behind my landscape paintings.
Landscape painting as a form of expressing values

I am strongly convinced that by choosing a subject for their artistic creativity, artists express their deeper beliefs and values. As I mentioned above, I miss so much to be close to nature and this is why landscape paintings become my main subject after the several-year period of creating abstract art and abstract landscapes.
The more the world become ruled by technology and by social media, the more I feel separated from the real life. Creating symbolic, imaginary landscapes is a form of retreat to me. It helps to listen to and align with my inner soul and intuition. It is also the way to express what matters to me.
I believe in the inner power of a human being. The ability to create beautiful things from nothing, the ability to invent, to help others in need and share values. With all that in mind, the goal of my landscape paintings is to help people boost energy level and to inspire them to raise to the God’s intended highest level.
For my somewhat surreal landscape painting artwork I have chosen vivid colours, often of symbolic meaning. The theme often includes trees, gardens of my soul (not real ones), streams, paths. As a medium I use mainly oil on canvas.
I hope my garden landscape paintings created from my
Landscape painting as a kind of meditation
My approach to painting landscapes is not typical one. Although I am inspired by nature, while creating I do not pretend to copy it in no way. I often use landscape photography I do to get into a closer relationship with a certain piece of reality. It is a kind of mediation for me, to be in a natural surrounding, to listen to natural sounds, to feel the air and be touched by sun light. I need to feel energy of the place. And then all that sensory stimuli and the joy they provide I try to convey by means of symbolic garden landscape painting.
The ‘In Light’ oil landscape painting on canvas and the photo attached below are a sample of this approach.

Landscape painting as a form of dialog
Art is a form of expression of thoughts and feelings. It is the most sincere dialog between the creator and giver who is an artist and the viewer and receiver in the other one person. I belive that in a world of so many values and people who differ so much from each other, still there are others who share with us similar outlook. Who may need what we artists may offer them.
Bearing in mind the honesty, I hope to reach with my art people who may suffer from depression. People, who need to be surrounded by positive vibes and things that inspire them to raise and act, to become better and take control of their emotions.
I went through a very long and taugh path, through the darkness from which faith and art saved me. All that precious experience and my joy that I managed to raise is present in every art I create. Let my landscape painting inspire you.
