Podmurna Street

Description

Podmurna Street in Torun Cityscape painting depicts one of streets in Old Town of Torun. It is Polish town where Nicolaus Copernicus was born in 1473. Torun is also famous for very well-preserved medieval architecture. The great astronom must have walked this street many times as it is close to the very centre of the oldest part of the city and the very house where he was born.

I have also attached a photo of the street I did in Torun many years ago. It served me as a source of inspiration for the painting.
